Coordination and support services tailored to each care pathway.

PROXYMO by Global Care Partners steps in when the situation requires more than mere information or quick guidance. Our role is to help patients and families understand the situation, prepare the relevant steps, coordinate the necessary exchanges and, depending on needs, organise more concrete support between East Africa and Belgium.

Every journey is different. Some situations require occasional support; others call for deeper coordination, a second opinion, the preparation of a stay in Belgium, human support or continuity of follow-up after an important stage.

An intervention adapted to your situation.

PROXYMO does not apply a single formula to every case. We adapt our intervention to the nature of the need, the level of urgency, the family context, the place of residence and the steps already taken.

Our goal is to provide the right level of support, neither too little nor too much, with a clear, serious approach that respects the role of each party involved.

Our main services.

1. Case-file review and initial orientation

We help to read through and structure the useful information in a medical file in order to better understand the situation and direct the request to the most relevant interlocutors. This step is often essential when the information is scattered, technical or difficult for the family to interpret.

This can help to:

  • clarify the medical situation and the priorities;
  • identify the relevant steps before going further;
  • avoid wasted time or steps that are not well suited.

2. Teleconsultation and second opinion

When the situation warrants it, PROXYMO can help organise a teleconsultation or a second opinion in order to obtain additional perspective, better understand the available care options or prepare a more relevant orientation.

This service can be useful when a patient wishes to compare several opinions, when a family needs greater clarity before travelling, or when a local professional wishes to obtain an additional reading of a situation.

3. Coordination of a care pathway in Belgium

When a consultation, an assessment or care must be organised in Belgium, PROXYMO can step in to make the journey more readable, better prepared and more coherent in the way it unfolds.

This may include, depending on the case, preparing the steps, organising the useful exchanges, coordinating with the relevant interlocutors and supporting an overall understanding of the journey.

4. Help with the practical organisation of the stay

Some situations require additional logistical support, in particular when a patient must come to Belgium for a consultation, a treatment or a period of follow-up.

PROXYMO can then help to organise certain practical aspects of the stay, including the search for accommodation near the relevant facilities, while respecting the person’s budget and needs. Accommodation costs remain the responsibility of the patient or family and are paid directly, without intermediary.

5. Human support at certain stages of the journey

When a particular need exists, PROXYMO can organise human support to help the patient and family better understand certain consultations, prepare their questions, ask for clarification and move forward with greater peace of mind throughout the journey.

This support may be provided by an experienced healthcare professional, including the founder of the project, while respecting the doctor’s role and without interfering with clinical decision-making.

6. Nursing care and support in Belgium

When the situation requires it, PROXYMO may also mobilise, through Global Care Partners, concrete services in Belgium, in particular nursing or care-assistant support tailored to the patient’s situation during their stay or after a hospitalisation.

These interventions depend on the clinical situation, actual needs, feasibility and the appropriate framework of care. They do not replace the hospital, the treating physician or therapeutic decisions.

7. Continuity of care and follow-up after a key stage

A consultation, a hospitalisation or a return home does not always mark the end of the journey. PROXYMO can help clarify the relevant next steps, maintain the continuity of exchanges and avoid breaks in the organisation or understanding of follow-up. Depending on the case, this may include post-hospitalisation follow-up support in Belgium, coordination after the return, or organising remote exchanges when relevant.

8. Sending medication and therapeutic continuity

In certain situations and within a strictly regulated framework, PROXYMO may help to organise the sending of medication via the competent channels and partners, on a valid medical prescription and in compliance with applicable rules. Not all medication can be sent, and this possibility depends on the type of treatment, the relevant regulations and the feasibility of the case. This is therefore not an automatic service but a possibility examined on a case-by-case basis.

We do:

  • guide, coordinate and structure the journey;
  • facilitate the useful exchanges around the care provided;
  • help prepare the steps and understand the options;
  • organise, where needed, more concrete support in Belgium.

We do not:

  • substitute ourselves for doctors, hospitals or the authorities;
  • make diagnoses or take clinical decisions in place of the competent professionals;
  • manage plane tickets or carry out official procedures in place of the patient;
  • promise the same level of intervention for every situation.
